Victor Borge Biography

He also authored three books including his autobiography and founded the American Pianists Association. Victor Borge was created in Copenhagen, Denmark in January 1909 and passed on in December 2000. He started on the air and won Greatest New Radio Performer of the entire year in 1942. He blended humor and music and gained nicknames including “THE FANTASTIC Dane”, “The Clown Prince of Denmark”, and “The Unmelancholy Dane”. At eight years aged Victor gave his 1st piano recital. He was awarded a complete scholarship at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Borge worked well as a classical concert pianist prior to starting his stand-up take action blending piano music with jokes. He escaped a Nazi occupied Denmark and relocated to america not speaking a term of English. Borge accomplished great achievement in Europe and america. Beginning in 1946 he hosted The Victor Borge Display on NBC. 3 His son, Ron Borge, appeared many times on stage with his father as the timid page turner.
4 Borge, almost single-handedly, developed the Rock Cornish game hen industry in America. He owned a very large farm where he raised Rock Cornish hens.

The show went through several editions over the years, but always retained some of the same comic remarks.
