Usain Bolt's Net Worth as of 2024
$30 Million

Usain St. Leo Bolt was born on 21 August 1986, in Sherwood Content, Trelawny Jamaica, and is a star track and field athlete – often referred to as “Lightning Bolt”, or “Bolt from the blue” – who first rose to international prominence in 2008, when he participated in the Beijing Summer Olympics, during which he won Gold medals for the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4×100 meters relay team event.

So just how rich is Usain Bolt? According to sources, in 2013 Bolt managed to earn $20 million from various endorsements, and added a sum of $30,000 from winnings, and his total income that year amounted to $24 million. In 2014, Bolt’s earnings from endorsements rose to $23 million, while his winnings amounted to $200,000, with his total earnings for year amounting to approximately $23.5 million. In regards to his total wealth, Usain Bolt’s net worth is estimated to be $30 million, most of which he has collected due to his successful athletics career, as well as sponsorship.

Usain Bolt studied at the Waldensia Primary school, where he excelled in sprinting. Bolt continued his studies at the William Knibb Memorial High School, where he trained under Pablo McNeill and Dwayne Jarrett, participated in various sports events, and in 2001 received a medal during the high school championship. Bolt’s first introduction to professional sports events came that same year, when he competed at the IAAF World Youth Championship. Even though Bolt did not make it to the finals, he still managed to break his previous personal record. Bolt’s rise to prominence started with the 2002 World Junior Championships, during which he set numerous records. He then started his professional athletics career in 2004, participating in the CARIFTA Games, where he secured four Gold medals. For his performance during the event, Bolt was awarded the Austin Sealy Trophy. Since then, Usain Bolt has managed to become one of the most successful sprinters in the sports’ history, but during the three years 2005-07 he had a series of injuries which prevented him performing at his peak. However, his victories in Beijing made up for all that.

Usain repeated his success from Beijing the next year at the World Athletics Championship in Berlin, by winning three more golds, and setting a world 200 metres record of 19.19 seconds. Additionally in 2009, Bolt broke his own record for 100 meters event, setting a new time of 9.58 seconds. He repeated this feat in the next two World Championships, in Daegu in 2011 and then again at the Moscow Championships in 2013, the first man ever to complete the ‘triple-triple’. More followed – the results were exactly the same at the Championships held in Beijing in 2015, making Bolt’s achievements a ‘quadruple-triple’.

Even more impressively, in 2012 at the London Olympic Games Bolt won the same three medals as in the Beijing Olympics, the only athlete in history to do this ‘double-triple’.  Unfortunately an early season injury meant that Usain competed only in the relay at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, but still winning the gold medal of course.

Over the years, Usain Bolt has become one of the most popular athletes in the world, as well as one of the most successful. Bolt’s contributions to sports have been acknowledged with the “Laureus World Sportsman of the Year” award, which he has received three times, as well as five IAAF World Athlete of the Year awards among others, but perhaps the highlight to date has been the award of the Order of Jamaica in 2009, the equivalent of a knighthood in the British system, and at 23 the youngest ever to be so rewarded.

In his personal life, Usian has never taken himself too seriously, being known for his mischievous jokes, and until recently that also apparently applied to his relationships. Over the years he has dated several very attractive ladies, including Lubica Slovak, Mizicann Evans, Megan Edward, Rebecca Passley, and Teahnna Banks, but as of late 2015, remains single, obviously too quick to be caught.
