Robinho Net Worth

Date:

Born Robson de Souza on the 25th January 1984, in São Vicente, Brazil, he is a soccer player who plays as a forward for the Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro. Previously he played for several teams, including another Brazilian club, Santos, then in La Liga for Real Madrid, in the Premier League for Manchester City, and also tried himself in Italian Serie A playing for Milan. During his career, Robinho has won Campeonato Brasileiro Série A with Santos in 2002 and 2004, then La Liga twice with Real Madrid, Serie A in 2010-2011 season with Milan, and in 2017 won the Campeonato Mineiro with Atlético Mineiro.

Have you ever wondered how rich Robinho is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Robinho’s net worth is as high as $60 million, an amount earned through his successful career as a soccer player, which has been active since 2002.

Robinho Net Worth $60 Million

Robinho joined Santos when he was 12 years old and passed through their youth system, joining the first team in 2002. When he was only 15 years old, Brazilian legend Pelé, who spent over 20 years in Santos, handpicked young Robinho as his heir, and he was right, as Robinho led Santos to two Campeonato Brasileiro in 2002 and then 2004.

Thanks to his successful showing in Santos, Robinho was sought by many European clubs, including Spanish giant Real Madri, and he moved to Spain in 2005, on a transfer fee worth 60% of the buyout clause that amounted to €24 million. In his debut season for Real, Robinho played in 51 games overall and scored 12 goals. The following year, Robinho and Real won La-Liga, however, he scored only six goals in the league from 32 games in which he played. However, he bounced back the next season, scoring 11 in the league and 15 in total from 42 games. Unfortunately, the next season he was involved in an argument with Real Madrid president Ramón Calderón over a contract extension, and did not play in any game in the 2008-2009 season, instead, he was put on the transfer list and sold to Manchester City of the Premier League, although he had been projected to become a Chelsea player.

Robinho continued in Manchester where he left off while in Madrid, as he again scored 15 goals, this time in 41 games. However, the following season, he played in ten games only, due to an injury and decline in form, and eventually was sent back to his native Santos on loan, where he appeared in 22 games and scored 11 goals. However, his career in Manchester was over, as after he returned from loan, Robinho was sold to Milan for €18M.

In his first season with Milan, the team won the Scudetto, and he scored 14 goals in 34 games in Serie A. Unfortunately, after 2010-2011 season, his form began to decline and injuries kept him away from the field, so he spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons in Santos, again on loan, during which Robinho played in 41 games and scored 17 goals.

At the end of the 2015 season, his contract expired and Robinho moved to China, signing a contract with the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, whose manager at the time was Luiz Felipe Scolari. He won the Chinese Super League with his new team, and contributed to the title with three goals, but his contract lasted only six months and wasn’t renewed, so Robinho then headed back to his home country and became a new player of Atlético Mineiro.

Aside from club career, Robinho has also been successful with the national squad; since 2003 when he made his debut, Robinho has played in 100 games and scored 28 goals. During his international career, Robinho has been in teams which won several trophies, including two FIFA Confederations Cups in 2005 and 2009, and the Copa America in 2007, and Superclásico de las Américas in 2014.

Robinho received several awards for his individual performances, including three Bola de Prata in 2002, 2004 and 2016, Bola de Ouro in 2004, and Golden Shoe and Golden Ball for his tremendous play at Copa America in 2007.

Regarding his personal life, Robinho has been married to Vivian Guglielminetti since 2009; the couple has two children together.

Robinho’s family was a part of an infamous event in 2005, when his mother, Marina da Silva Souza, was taken by an armed man. Luckily, the whole thing was sorted out within a month, after the family paid a ransom to the kidnapper.
