Quvenzhané Wallis was born on 28 August 2003, in Houma, Louisiana, USA, and is best known as the actress who portrayed Hushpuppy in ‘‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’’, and Annie in ‘‘Annie’’.
So just how rich is Quvenzhané Wallis as of early 2018? According to authoritative sources, this actress already has a net worth of over $3 million, with her wealth being accumulated from just her six years long career in the mentioned field.
Quvenzhané Wallis Net Worth $3 Million
Wallis made her debut with the role of Hushpuppy in ‘‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’’, an adventure drama movie which follows the story of a six years old girl named Hushpuppy, who must learn the ways of courage and love, as her father’s health fades away; the film was rewarded with awards such as AFI Award for Movie of the Year, AAFCA Award for Breakout Performance which Quvenzhané won herself, EDA Female Focus Award, ACCA and BFCC Award, and was additionally nominated for four Oscars. Additionally, Wallis stated that she had to lie about her age in order to be cast to play the role, as she was five years old and the actress was supposed to be at least six years old. Wallis then joined the cast of ‘‘Boneshaker’’ portraying Blessing in the short movie starred side by side with Caroline Idakula, Playshena Rose Thomas and Moussa Koné. Subsequently, she landed the role of Anne Northup in ‘‘12 Years a Slave’’, a critically appraised movie, which won four Oscar awards and in which she worked side by side with actors such as Chiwetel Ejiofor, Dwight Henry and Dickie Gravois. Her net worth was well and truly established.
Working on such prominent projects allowed Wallis to be exposed more to the media, and attract more attention, and continuing to work at a steady pace, in 2014 she landed the starring role in ‘‘Annie’’, a comedy drama movie about a girl who lives with her mean foster mom. Despite getting mixed reviews, ‘‘Annie’’ was nominated for two Golden Globe awards, in addition to being rewarded with such as EDA Special Mention Award, and Wallis was herself rewarded with the WFCC Award for Best Young Actress. As of 2015, she portrayed Lucy in ‘‘Fathers & Daughters’’, a critically acclaimed movie, in which she worked alongside Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried and Aaron Paul. When it comes to her latest projects, Quvenzhané provided voice recordings for the role of Harper in ‘‘Trolls’’ and speaking about her future projects, her movie ‘‘Naya – Legend of the Golden Dolphin’’ is currently in the process of filming.
Besides in her movies, the audience could see Wallis in talks shows such as ‘‘The Meredith Vieira Show’’, ‘‘Talk Stoop with Cat Greenleaf’’ and ‘‘Wendy: The Wendy Williams Show’’.
When it comes to her private life, Wallis has two brothers – Vejon and Venjie and one sister, named Qunyquekya. She is active on social media such as Twitter and Instagram, and is followed by 39,000 people on the former and 24,500 on the latter.

My audition turned out to be at the library and my Mom got a call from one of her friends and it was for a six-to-nine-year-old. So my Mom said I couldn't go 'cause I was only five. But we just went and we act like we're having nothin' to do; we had done nothin' wrong. And we just sneaked in because I was like one year younger so we just sneaked in and we walked out like we ain't done nothin'. So they called back and they said they were looking for Nazie. My Mom says, 'Oh, you must be looking for Quvenzhané.' They were like, no, we must have called the wrong person and they almost hung up, but my Mom caught them. And she goes, 'She must have told you Nazie,' and they were like, 'Yes, that's who we're looking for.' And that's Quvenzhané. And they only have found me because the character who is Hushpuppy, she does what is right and she is fearless and that's what I did at the audition.

At age 5, Nazie (her nickname), had to fib about her age to audition for her very first acting job--the starring role in Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) because the minimum age to be considered was six. She eventually beat out some 4,000 other local kids to play Hushpuppy--the indomitable child prodigy and survivalist who lives with her dying father in the backwoods bayou squalor of Louisiana. Director Benh Zeitlin told 'The Daily Beast' that when he auditioned Nazie, he immediately realized he'd discovered what he was looking for, and changed the 'Beasts' script to accommodate her strong-willed personality.
