After his friend Mark Edwards paid bail to get him out of jail, Champion decided to move to Atlanta, Georgia. Edwards helped him once again and secured him a deal to play street basketball for the AND1 Mixtape Tour in 2000, and since then, Philip has become one of the best streetballers ever.

Champion’s first stint with the AND1 Mixtape Tour lasted until 2004, and he was a part of the team of streetballers who traveled around the US from town to town to play the game, challenging local players. The exhibition style of playing and a lot of one-on-one isolations, alley-oops and dunks are the part of streetball, and Champion and his teammates were even compared to the famous Harlem Globetrotters. Philip emerged as one of the best streetballers in the world, and he proved that when the AND1 Mixtape Tour traveled across the planet -including Angola and Chile – while their first defeat was suffered to the Puerto Rico Streetballers in 2012. Philip developed such trademark moves as The Hypnotizer, The Flinstone Shuffle, The Boomerang, and The Hurricane.

His second stint with the AND1 Mixtape Tour was from 2006 to 2008, while in the meantime, Champion also appeared in the Preston A. Whitmore’s II sports movie called “Crossover” (2006) starring Anthony Mackie, Wesley Jonathan and Wayne Brady. The story follows a naturally talented basketball player who has a dream to become a doctor. After that, Champion played streetball for the College Park Spyders from 2009 to 2002, and since 2012 has been a member of the American Basketball Association team the Court Kingz.
