Oksana Baiul Net Worth $20 million

Oksana Baiul had a pretty rough childhood; when she was only two years old, her parents divorced, after which her father disappeared under unclear circumstances, so Oksana was raised by her mother and her grandparents – her grandpa was the one responsible for introducing the world of ice skating to Oksana. She began practicing at the age of four, and by the age of five she was already under the guidance of one of the best Ukrainian skating coaches, Stanislav Korytek. By a cruel twist of fate, in the period between 1987 and 1991, all of her family members died and she became an orphan, and she was taken in by her skating coach, Galina Zmievskaya. Under her rigorous guidance, Oksana Baiul quickly rose to prominence.

Oksana Baiul debuted in the professional world of figure skating in 1990 when she took 12th place in the Soviet Championships. It was followed by 4th place in the Nations Cup (nowadays referred to as the Bofrost Cup on Ice) in 1991. The real breakthrough in Oksana Baiul’s figure skating career came in 1993 when she won several medals – silver medal at the European Figure Skating Championship held in Helsinki, Finland which was followed by the gold medal in the Ukrainian Figure Skating Championship as well as the gold medal in the World Figure Skating Championship. All these achievements provided the basis for Oksana Baiul’s overall net worth.

In 1994, Oksana won another European Figure Skating Championship silver medal as well as Nations Cup’s silver medal, and at the international figure skating competition Skate America, she won the gold medal. However, the most important professional achievement of Oksana Baiul is certainly the gold medal at the 1994 Winter Olympic Games held in Norway. These accomplishments have placed Oksana Baiul at the very top in the world of women’s figure skating and have also significantly increased her overall net worth.

Although the experts were predicting a promising career for her, Oksana decided to retire from professional figure skating in 1994. Nowadays, she occasionally skates in various exhibition programs, including several roles in musical performances such as “Nutcracker on Ice” and “Wizard of Oz on Ice”. So far, she has added over 900 live performances to her portfolio. Doubtlessly, all these engagements have helped Oksana Baiul to increase her overall net worth by a large margin.

For her accomplishments and efforts, Oksana Baiul was honored with the Ukrainian Chevaliers’ Order of Merit title. She has also been featured on a postage stamp published by Ukrainian Postal Service. Up to this day, Oksana Baiul is still the only female Ukrainian figure skating Olympic gold medal winner.

Apart from still being occasionally active in the world of skating, Oksana Baiul also put some efforts into business. In 2002, she launched the Oksana Baiul Collection – her own clothing and jewelry line.

When it comes to her personal life, Oksana Baiul has been married since 2015 to her manager Carlo Farina with whom she currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Besides her business engagement, Oksana Baiul is an avid supporter of Tikva Children’s Home Charity.
