1 Nnamdi appeared on the cover of the Aug. 8, 2011 issue of Sports Illustrated after signing a 5-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
2 In 2007 Nnamdi formed ACTS (Asomugha College Tour for Scholars) a college mentoring program, through which he annually takes a group of high-achieving high school students from under-served communities in Los Angeles, The Bay Area, and Philadelphia, on an all-expenses paid trip to a city where they visit local colleges and universities. The Tour has visited New York, Boston, Washington DC, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Chicago.
3 In June 2010, Asomugha was the first athlete presented with the Jefferson Award for Public Service, which honors volunteerism in America and is considered the Nobel Prize for community service.
4 In 2010, Asomugha was presented with the 44th annual Byron "Whizzer" White NFL Man of the Year, the NFL Players Association's (NFLPA) highest honor.
5 Nnamdi introduced President Barack Obama at a fundraiser in Oakland during his 2012 Presidential Election Campaign.
6 Since 2009, Nnamdi has been invited by former President Bill Clinton to speak annually at the Clinton Global Initiative University, to engage youth around commitment to education and community service.
7 Nnamdi is the national ambassador for the NFL and United Way partnership, and is the head of the United Way's TEAM NFL, a task force comprised of one representative from each NFL team whose purpose is to recruit volunteer readers, mentors and tutors to help combat the High School dropout rate.
