Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Wyatt is the daughter of gospel musicians Lorna and Keever. Because of her parents’ influence, Wyatt was exposed to music at a very early age; from gospel to different genres, her parents didn’t limit her to listening to any specific kind of music. At the age of two she was already singing, and by five performing in front of an audience.

At the age of 10, Wyatt made waves when she recorded the song “What If” under the gospel album of R.H. Duncan. Keke’s amazing performance led her to become a student of producer/songwriter Steve Huff, who helped launch her singing career by forwarding her sample music to various labels.

After writing songs for various labels and joining several girl groups which initially started her singing career and net worth, Keke got her first real break when she recorded the song “My First Love” with artist Avant. The song was included in Avant’s “My Thoughts” album and became a hit among fans, and topped several charts. The success of the song led to a recording deal with MCA Records and tremendously helped her net worth.

Finally in 2001, her first album “Soul Sista” was released. With the help of the hit single “Nothing in this World”, the album became an instant platinum hit, and catapulted her to fame. Keke reached fans from various parts of the globe and along with her fame her wealth increased as well.

After the success of her first album, Keke went on to transfer to several recording labels, and released three more albums but none of which was able to match the success of “Soul Sista”.

In 2012 she took a different career detour, and became part of the reality television show “R&B Divas”. Along with other recording artists including Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Syleena Johnson and Monifah, the show follows the group as they rebuild their singing careers and their personal lives. Although the show was canceled after three years, it helped Wyatt with her career and also her net worth.

Today, Wyatt is still active in the music industry with a new album set to be released in 2016. She is also an advocate for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence after having experienced it herself with her past relationship.

In terms of her personal life, Wyatt married Rahmat Morton in 1990, but domestic violence, allegedly on both sides, saw them divorce in 2009, having had three children. Keke has been married to Michael Ford since 2010; the couple now has eight children, three from Wyatt’s first marriage, one from Ford’s previous relationship, and sharing four together.
