At the early age of 16, during her senior year, she became pregnant to her then boyfriend Jo Rivera, and that was when MTV approached Lowry to be featured in the second season of their documentary series “16 & Pregnant”.
Lowry slowly rose to fame, gaining sympathy from audiences because of her struggle to raise her first born Isaac Elliot Rivera. The show featured how her mother refused to help her raise her child, forcing Lowry to move out of their house and live with Rivera.
