Schnabel grew up in Brownsville, Texas, along with his two siblings. He attended the University of Houston, obtaining a BA degree in Fine Arts in 1973, and then moved to New York to attend the Independent Study Program at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Two years later, he held his first solo exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, then spent the late ’70s traveling around Europe, where he was especially impressed with the work of Antonio Gaudi. Upon returning to New York City, he took various jobs such as a cook and taxi driver, but went on to produce and promote his art.

In 1979, Schnabel got his first solo show at the acclaimed Mary Boone Gallery, which was a career-launching success. After several more solo shows he became a known name in Neo-expressionist collector circles, and his net worth began to rise, such that he was soon holding solo exhibitions all over the country, and then all over the world, establishing himself as one of the major names in art, both as a painter and as a sculptor, which brought him a sizable fortune.

His works can today be seen in various museums all over the globe, such as in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, Reina Sofia in Spain, Tate Modern in England and the Centre Georges Pompidou in France. Speaking about his art pieces, Schnabel is best known for his ‘plate paintings’, which are comprised of broken ceramic plates and pottery pieces glued to canvases of massive dimensions and then painted.

Schnabel expanded his artistic resume in the late ’80s, by writing an autobiography entitled “CVJ: Nicknames of Maitre D’s & Other Excerpts From Life”. Then, in the early ’90s, his creativity expanded to music, and he released an album entitled “Every Silver Lining Has a Cloud”, but receiving mixed reviews.

He definitely made more of an impression by directing films, a profession he took up in the mid-’90s, when he co-wrote and directed “Basquiat”, a biographical drama portraying the life and death of Jean-Michel Basquiat. In 2000 he directed and produced the drama film “Before Night Falls”, an adaptation of Reinaldo Arenas’ autobiographical novel of the same name. Then in 2007, Schnabel directed “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly”, which earned him two Golden Globe Awards, one for best director and the other for best foreign-language film. The most recent film he directed was the 2010 “Miral”, a biographical political film portraying a Palestinian girl who grows up in the wake of the Arab–Israeli War. His career as a director has earned Schnabel a new level of fame, significantly contributing to his net worth too.

He is also credited for painting the cover artwork for the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2002 album “By The Way”.

In his private life, Schnabel has been married twice, firstly in the ’80s, to clothing designer Jacqueline Beaurang, with whom he has three children. In 1993 he married Spanish actress Olatz López Garmendia, with whom he has two children; after a 17-year long marriage, the couple divorced. When Schnabel’s relationship with Rula Jebreal, who penned the screenplay and original source novel for “Miral”, came to an end in 2011, he began dating former model and assistant director at the Hole Gallery, May Andersen, with whom he has one child.

Robert Kirkman was born on 30 November 1978, in Richmond, Kentucky USA. He is perhaps most widely recognized as the creator of “The Walking Dead”, both the comic series and some of the episodes of the famous horror TV series adaptation.

So how rich exactly is Robert Kirkman? Sources estimate his current net worth to be $20 million, most of his wealth being accumulated through his work as a comic book author, plus being one of the writers of the episodes of TV series “The Walking Dead” has also significantly raised his net worth.

Robert Kirkman Net Worth $20 Million

Robert Kirkman wrote his first successful comic book entitled “Battle Pope” in 2000 with the help of artist Tony Moore. It was a parody of the superhero genre mixed with Biblical symbolism and dark humor. Despite its controversial themes, the comic book ran successfully and in 2005 was reprinted by “Image Comics” in color and in 2008 “Battle Pope” became an animated series on “Spike” TV channel.

The second successful Kirkman’s project was a story about a superhero entitled “Invincible” which he created in 2003 with artist Cory Walker. In the same year he released another comic which raised Kirkman’s success and net worth to a whole new level. There were some problems when Kirkman tried to publish the first issues of “The Walking Dead” as zombies weren’t seen as something that audiences might enjoy. However, Robert managed to sell the first issue and the comic gained instant popularity. In 2010, “The Walking Dead” won the Eisner Award in the category of “Best Continuing series”. In the same year, the first episode of “The Walking Dead” apocalyptic horror TV series adaptation was released on AMC. Not surprisingly, Kirkman was chosen to work as one of the writers for the episodes of this show. In addition, as show gained increasing popularity, Kirkman has published three non-graphic novels of “The Walking Dead”, which were entitled “The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor” (in 2011), “The Walking Dead: The Road to Woodbury” (in 2012) and “The Walking Dead: The Fall of the Governor” (in 2013). Currently, Kirkman is one of the co-authors to the spin-off horror TV show “Fear The Walking Dead” which should be released in the summer of 2015.

In 2004, Kirkman started working for one of the biggest comic book publishing companies Marvel Comics, which also boosted Kirkman’s already impressive net worth. Kirkman is known for working on such popular comic book titles as “Avengers Disassembled”, “Jubilee”, “Fantastic Four”, “Ultimate X-Men”, “Marvel Team-Up” and “Irredeemable Ant-Man”. However, in 2008, Kirkman ended his associations with Marvel Comics and became one of the partners of Image Comics. Currently, Kirkman is working on a science fiction feature film entitled “AIR”, which is scheduled to be released in 2015 and will be the first film produced by Robert Kirkman.

In his personal life, Robert Kirkman is married and has two children, one of whom is named Peter Parker, after the famous superhero Spider-Man.
