He joined the House of Heroes tour for seven months, and then Rigsby returned to the band. Dun was then invited by Chris Salih to go to a Twenty One Pilots show in 2011. He listened to the original demo CD of the band, and met Tyler Joseph whom he befriended. Eventually Salih along with Nick Thomas left Twenty One Pilots, and this led to Dun leaving his Guitar Center job to play with Tyler – he played one song and then the show was cancelled by the local police. After this event, he would become the official drummer of Twenty One Pilots, and joined the band for their second studio album entitled “Regional at Best”. They also signed under Fueled by Ramen which is a subsidiary of Atlantic Records.
