Jonathon started his career in 1973 when he joined WFON located in his hometown. At the age of 18, he then joined WOSH located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, before working as a DJ for WYNE (WHBY).
Later on, he would join KLIV, and then became the morning DJ at WYBR-FM (WXRX). He continued working for various radio stations which started to increase his net worth, then in 1980 he moved to Milwaukee to join WOKY, but a year later became the morning DJ of the Phoenix, Arizona station KZZB. During his time there, he did song parodies as well as prank phone calls, and his song parodies led to him releasing his first album entitled “Just Havin’ Fun”.
