James Jonah Cummings was born on the 3rd November 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio USA, and is a voice actor and singer, perhaps best known to the world as the voice of Darkwing Duck, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, among many other Disney characters. Jim’s career started in 1984.

After matriculation he moved to New Orleans and found a job as a designer of Mardi Gras floats, and also worked as a river boat deck hand. He was a drummer and singer of the rock band FUSION, before he married and moved to Anaheim, California. Jim then found a job at a local video store and held the position until the mid- ‘80s, when he voiced Lionel the Lion in “Dumbo’s Circus” (1985) for Disney. Three years later he voiced Winnie the Pooh in the animated video “Winnie the Pooh Friendship: Tigger-ific Tales”, which was then made into an animated TV series “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” (1988-1991). Since then he has given the voice to Winnie in every animated production, and has also given voice to Tigger. Two years prior he started voicing Zummi Gummi in the TV series “Adventures of the Gummi Bears” (1986-1991), and from 1990 to 1991 gave voice to Don Karnage and Louie in the TV series “TaleSpin” (1990-1991). In 1991 he was chosen for the voice of Darkwing Duck, and voiced him in the animated series from 1991 until 1992, while also from 1991 until 1995 voicing Tasmanian Devil in the TV series “Taz-Mania”. From 1993 until 1994 he was Dr. Robotnik in the “Sonic the Hedgehog”, and in 1994 and 1995 gave voices to Razoul and Farouk from “Aladdin”. His next notable venture was the TV series “The Mask” (1995-1997), where he lend his voice to Detective Doyle among other characters. After that he voiced Ed the Hyena in the animated series “Timon and Pumbaa” (1995-1999). He was also the voice of Cat in the “CatDog” (1998-2005) Jim then gave his voice to Cortes, a character form the animated film “The Road to El Dorado” (2000), and also voiced Chowquin in “Titan A.E.” (2000). In 2001 he featured in the “Shrek”, as Captain of Guards, and from 2001 until 2003 voiced Tantor in “The Legend of Tarzan”, which only increased his net worth. Five years later, he was selected as the voice of King Triton in “The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning” (2008), and then lend the voice to Ray from “The Princess and the Frog” (2009). Two years later, Jim voiced Featherstone in “Gnomeo & Juliet” (2011) and in 2012 was the voice of both Budzo and Marabous in “Zambezia”.
