Elle King is the only child of celebrity couple comedian and actor Rob Schneider, and her mother Lauren King is former model – she has Jewish, Filipino, English, and Scottish heritage. Her parents divorced when she was little, and her mother later remarried, which is why Elle spent her childhood in Eastern Ohio, while her teen years were spent in New York. At the age of nine, she was introduced to an all-girl rock band The Donnas by her stepfather, which was the turning point for Elle, who then decided that she would become a musician.
