Prior to his appearance in “Viva La Bam”, a lot of people were already familiar with him through “Jackass” and “CYK”, which included most of the family. Most of his appearances were comedic, as unintelligible subtitles would often be put into his scenes. He was also often the victim of pranks set up by his nephew Bam. Vito was supposed to be featured in “Jackass Number Two”, but he was removed post-production because of problems with the law. A run-in with the police lessened his net worth because the studio decided to remove him from the cast. In 2015, he was found collapsed on the floor and was rushed to the hospital where he remained in a coma. He died from kidney and liver failure as a result of alcoholism and obesity.
