Clifford Williams was born on the 14th December 1949, in Romford, Essex, England, and is a retired musician, best known to the world as the bassist of the Australian cult hard rock band AC/DC from 1977 to 2016.

Cliff spent his early days in his hometown, after which his family moved to Hoylake near Liverpool when he was 12 years old. Influenced by the Merseybeat movement, soon enough Cliff fell in love with rock music, and the next year he and his friends formed a band. Three years later he quit school to primarily focus on music; he played in numerous bands before he, Laurie Wisefield, Mick Stubbs, Clive John and Mic Cook formed the band Home.
