A native of Altadena, he went to John Muir High School in Pasadena, and matriculated in 1989, after which Chad enrolled at the University of Colorado, where he started playing football. All four years he was in the starting line-up for the Colorado Buffaloes, but didn’t post any notable results. After graduation, Chad declared for the 1993 NFL Draft and was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 44th pick overall, which marked the start of his professional career and his net worth.

In his rookie season, Chad had 69 tackles and 3.0 sacks, which earned him Joe Greene Great Performance Award. During his tenure at the Steelers which lasted until 1996, Chad became one of the most integral parts of the “Blitzburgh” defense, which led them to the Super Bowl XXX in 1996, but lost to the Dallas Cowboys. Still, Chad was selected for his first Pro-Bowl game thanks to his successful season, in which he started 14 games and had 81 tackles with 13.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions.

After the 1995-96 season ended, he joined the Seattle Seahawks on a six-year contract that included a $7 million bonus, which increased his wealth. He stayed in Seattle until 2005, and earned a couple more Pro-Bowl selections, in 1998, and 1999. His best season was the 1998 season, in which he had 148 tackles alongside 7.5 sacks and one interception. His great form continued until the 2002 season, after which his numbers began to decline, and as a result he was released by the Seahawks in 2004. He was included into the Seattle Seahawks 35th Anniversary Team.

He then signed with the New England Patriots, but after one season and five starts, he was released, and tried to revive his career by going back to the Steelers, but after eight games he was injured and spent the rest of the season on the injured reserve list. His contract expired and he joined the Patriots again, but after two games he was released. He spent the whole season between being a free agent and a Patriot, since the New England Patriots released him and re-signed him three times, before he left football for good.

Aside from a successful career in football, Chad operates his own business called Pro Exotics, through which he sells non-poisonous snakes. He started the business when his professional football career began and since then has grown in size and worth, which only increased Chad’s wealth.

Regarding his personal life, Chad is married to Kristin and the couple has two children together.
