Bill Watterson is the son of James G. Watterson, who worked as a patent attorney, and Kathryn. He spent his childhood in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, as the family moved there in 1965. When he was eight years old, he created his first cartoon, inspired mostly by comic strips such as “Peanuts”, “Krazy Kat”, and “Pogo”. After matriculation, he became a student at Kenyon College, from which he graduated with a BA degree in Political Science in 1980.
